A New Path
This is not another Productivity Newsletter. Because we don't need more to do. We need better ways to be.
It’s only taken me 10 months to show up here again!
No kidding, it’s been on my To Do list to publish here for that long!
Not very productive of me, you might say?
I disagree. It just wasn’t the right time.
After months of consideration, I’ve finally settled on the path I want to follow here.
A path I think will be helpful to people.
I’m here to navigate this path with you.
If you’re here, it’s likely because something in your work, or your life, has stopped working the way it used to.
Maybe you’re a tech founder who’s built something remarkable, only to find yourself depleted, distracted, or disconnected from what once lit you up.
Maybe you’re a creative entrepreneur or consultant who’s lived by the mantra of purpose and performance, but now craves presence, space, and sovereignty, too.
Whoever you are, you’ve achieved enough to realise that “more” isn’t always the answer. And you’re not alone in that.
I’ve been there, and done that, too.
If you’re new here, you can find out more about my story, and what I do, at Creating Cadence or at Central HQ: bondesio.com.
Based on my experience with epic burnout, and how it prompted me to transform my work life and productivity practices, I also wrote a book about ‘intentional productivity’ called The Cadence Effect.
And here’s a picture of me in my happy place … hiking in the Lake District, in North West England. (I’m working 4 day weeks over the summer and my 5th day is spent here)
A bit about what you can expect in coming weeks and months.
What are you actually going to talk about, Mich?
In this space, we’ll explore a different rhythm for working and living. One that doesn’t just optimise your calendar, but supports your capacity, your clarity, and your creativity.
The themes I’m focusing on include:
Cadence - how to create rhythm, not rigidity
Intentional productivity - doing less, better
Regenerative work - for your energy, your systems, your impact
Leadership without self-abandonment - strong foundations to avoid burnout and overwork
Redefining profit, purpose, and progress - in a planet-friendly way
And lots more! (I’ve got heaps of helpful thoughts and ideas)
How often am I going to bombard you?
I’m officially starting next week, but as part of my own intentional productivity workflow, I need to be vigilant about capacity. That means, it’s only reasonable for me to post every two weeks.
So, there’ll be no bombarding.
As I wrote in an older post, I loathe social media, and I easily get overstimulated by engaging with too much online content. I’m conscious of your digital wellbeing too.
Do you have to pay for aaanother subscription or pledge?
No. Like everything I develop in my business, this is an experiment to start, so it’s currently free.
I earn money elsewhere, and I don’t like the friction of asking you to jump through hoops to benefit from the knowledge and resources I also share about freely elsewhere, like my Creating Cadence podcast or my monthly curated Cadence newsletter.
How this space is different is that it enables me to write longer form essays about the important things that matter to me, that will also help you.
Perhaps, if there’s enough interest in what I’m doing here, I might offer some paid aspect down the line, but the bulk of what I share will be free. So you’re safe.
And who is this for?
My Creating Cadence Substack is for those standing at a crossroads.
You’re founders, creatives, conscious leaders and high performers who know it’s time to build differently.
You don’t need fixing.
You need space …
…to feel again, think again, and work with meaning again.
If you’re in, let’s begin.
See you next week for my first subject matter post about what happens after you burn bright.
(I’d love if it you subscribed, so you get these in the comfort of your inbox whenever they drop. And comments are open if you have thoughts or questions) :D
